DamianParticipantMy thoughts exactly
DamianParticipantIf you increase the fuse, price has to go down too and what about the rifle nades? They travel longer distances and have longer fuse in overall. What about riflenades that explode on impact?

DamianParticipantI think it could be play tested like monga suggested, with SVT-40.
Hopefully better modding tools would be released, before Soviet doctrines are realeased into the game and this “shotgun model” could be used.
Tbh I never was the type of a guy who looks closely at the infantry models and check their weapons, I rather look at the weapon displayed over the squad icon, so it would not be gamebreaking as if putting sherman jumbo with m4a3 model 😛
Well, like meat said, it’s worth play testing, cause I find it a fun idea too!
When you implement some kind of polish partisants (And I hope you will <3) they could have a squad with double barrels for example 😛
I think it goes without saying, but US Assault Engies or US AB also could have access to shotguns 🙂DamianParticipantI use 5.1 headphones. I started using this 500 hours ago (if you can say it 😛 ).
When you are start using this, you will get used to it and will be able to tell the exact squads with 90% accuracy. Also your squads shout 99% of the time, sometimes they just stay quiet. This simple thing makes a BIG difference in combat 😀
Also try to remember the voice actor voices, because if you have 2 different squads near each other, you can be 100% which one is shouting 😀

DamianParticipantYou can dodge a nade quite easily. Before even enemy soldier throws a nade, squad that it’s thrown on will shout “GRENADE!!!” or something like this. When you hear this, move your units away. Same goes for the planes. Before they even enter the map, your soldiers will start shouting “PLANES!!!”.
Same goes for arty yada yada.
If someone is throwing a nade on you from behind cover (you can’t see them), your soldiers will shout anyway…. so just listen to what they are trying to tell you commander 😛
I think majority of the players does not use this knowledge 😛

DamianParticipantAnd what are you gonna spot it with when you spot them, look at them funny with your M20? I mean, that is if you manage it to get close enough, especially when it’s detection radius is at least 5 times as small as the 4x scope sniper range. How are you gonna spot them in the first place if they have so much range that they can just sit in the base?
DamianParticipant“50 cal gets moved to teir 2, I think everyone can agree on this, it makes German early vehicles useless, can kill luchs in 2 belts, does not belong in early game”
It takes ~10 seconds to kill luchs with AP ammo loaded 😉
Also we have confirmed that .30 cal is better than .50 cal in early game, so I don’t know if you can call it a nerf or a buff 😉also:
1. Read the patch notes for 3.1.8……. Heavy mortars are getting nerfed (accuracy nerf)
2. Why are you making another thread about snipers and M20 while we have these:
http://www.wikingeretow.com/wikingerforum/topic/m20-utility-car-buff/http://www.wikingeretow.com/wikingerforum/topic/sniper-range/
US has no problems with manpower at all. What is the problem is the power of snipers and heavy mortars. These are getting nerfed, so it should be fixed.
DamianParticipantI mean, I don’t even care anymore, like Mor and I said before, .30 cal is better than .50 cal in early game (and past early game you can get .50 cal anyway with t2). If you want to buff US, go for it and add .30 cal for every single doctrine. 😉
DamianParticipantI think detection range is pretty small, like scout vehicles are supposed to be used against snipers (especially in this meta), but the detection radius is pretty small.
I agree on the sight. It’s pretty massive, but the detection is not.
I tested it on the t70 few games ago and I could not spot snipers not so far away (probably ~gun range).
Snipers are fighting on really long distances and currently it might be REALLY hard to get close to them and spot them, so I guess it needs detection range buff first and foremost. But like I said, it might be just t70, I’ll try to test it for M20 too today (but the easiest way would be just checking the stats of the detection range) 😉

DamianParticipantLorarius, wurfhrammen could shoot either TNT or “fire” rounds. That are already in the game.

DamianParticipant.30 cal is actually better against infantry (range difference isn’t that big.). It kills infantry super easy because of it’s rate of fire.
If you remove .50 cal, people will start using .50 cal jeeps to kill LVs which will win any fight against halftracks and armored vehicles (besides Luchs, but not even .50 cal HMG can kill it in less than 10 seconds, not even with AP ammo).
SS does not have any early AT, because it does not need it. Jeeps/Kubel are killed super quick with infantry and what’s the other t1/t2 LV US can get???

DamianParticipant
Think about it 😉.50 cal is supposed to kill light vehicles and without it, US infantry will have to always go t2 instead of choosing to go for t3 first. I don’t think it would be very healthy.

DamianParticipantGive US .30 cal for every doctrine on tier1 then (cause SS has mg34) 🙂

DamianParticipantSorry for the long post, I’ve said the same thing a lot, but it’s just so people can understand what’s the real problem.
