I agree with this a lot
If a focus on Light Vehicles is the direction, then having to pay fuel for your line infantry will drive players away from this direction, because 20 fuel is losing about 1/3rd of the path toward Shermans.
Its very painful to play against as well as the massing of engineers renders your damage against American tanks relatively short-term, because as long as they escape they’ll be repaired within a minute.

Thanks for the criticism
HMG dmg being standardised for all tanks was more of a spitball since I agree with the devs in the aspect that if something is given for one (in this case .30 cal stats for Sherman V) then some will ask for it on all.
I can definitely get behind Firefly ambush camo at vet rather than as standard, but I know Canadian’s have standard M10 camo, and I think given the amount of Firefly’s modified with camo in the field I don’t think it would go amiss.
To my knowledge Tulips can be targeted to a spot but I may be wrong, as they can actually be targeted rather than just directing them with the arrow displayed by the tank. Anti-structure Tulips, while the existence debatable, would be very interesting given the RP-3’s penetration ability as a potential solution for Guards against buildings if not light concrete bunkers.
I’m glad you agree with the 17pdr change, as it is one I do not expect to stick due to the scripting required.
wParticipantI held off on giving the Assault Group Mp40s since 2x FG42 and 2x G43 is very strong as a squad especially with 2, and once linked with the officer that would be a very powerful infantry group.
The Support Squad was given no MP40 since it’s meant to do the job of an HMG42 with superior mobility , hence their lack of Model 24’s or AT.
The AT Squad gives Panzerwurfmine so they can do that extra damage as basically the sole major AT of the airdrop, and imo double raketens just doesn’t give room for tactics or strategy and is way more vulnerable than it should be as the airdrops sole AT group.
wParticipantI have a question since I use soviet tanks pretty often
why vet 1? AT squads are locked behind tier 1 (despite Boys AT at Tier 0) and it’s pretty difficult to get Vet 1 with them without the enemy hurling 222’s at you. Imo it should be available at Tier 2
wParticipantnick I was contrasting more with other Armoured Doctrines and their superior late mediums compared to UKF’s lack of late mediums. I do Allies vs Axis in Wikinger pvp pretty often, but there’s no point playing UKF Guards Armoured if SOV or USF Armoured has the edge of better mediums against things like Panthers.
wParticipantIt would be the difference between cheap and versatile Cromwells which are a lot faster and can make deeper pushes quicker, or more survivable but more expensive Sherman V’s.
Basically choosing mobility or armour.
This post was mostly made to adress the late-game medium problem rather than addressing Fireflies. As it stands UKF has no mediums of equal armour or gun power to beat Panthers, 34-85’s, or E8’s, which was the point I was trying to make here.
wParticipantMy point is Cromwells can absolutely fight P4’s and M4A1’s, but they fail hard against late mediums and Guards’ Armoured has 0 counter to late mediums tank-wise, and has to stick with the Cromwell. The Sherman V can nuke tanks compared to the Cromwell but it only exists as a call-in currently. Free tulip racks isn’t balanced even after Tier 4 upgrade, but a reduced cost following Tier 4, at least to fire, makes some sense to me.
