LorariusKeymaster
HI… That sounds like you are very experienced with our tuned Wikinger AI.
Good to have you here.
Discord is also great just to meet other players or talk about Wikinger topics.
LorariusKeymastercurrently we are working on some light vehicles as well… many thanks for the feedback and the good suggestions.
Some vehicle changes should be implemented in Wikinger’s next patch.
If you spot anything else on this topic, please let us know!
LorariusKeymasterI think Aydin meant the Stuka zu Fuß…
That is one doctrine of the Wehrmacht, not sure which one.
LorariusKeymasterI do think there is the problem…
making it hard to hold a defensive line.
If your opponent uses artillery, it is because they have a target, mostly this is the defensive line which would be very hard to overcome for them without artillery.
Try 2 things:
- get a second defensive line which you could use – you can play the “dig in and build heavy tanks” game, but don’t dig in static – try to move your defenses where possible,#.
- don’t dig in, don’t get static
LorariusKeymasterIn my eyes the Iron Will Doctrine is very strong in the beginning and quite strong when fully developed.
IW gives you 2 unique benefits in early game:
- Panzerfaust truck is very helpful and a kinda cheap but powerfull anti tank solution. It comes out fast enough to counter the first vehicles…. and it can still counter big vehicles in close combat – of course that means having an ambush and/or urban map
- On big maps IW has the big advantage that all of the Freiwilligen appear in trucks. Your infantry can rush forward while your friend takes the rear without any losses or fight. Of course you will have to retreat and will loose some infantry, but you have the advantage of having important ressources at a very early time.
Also, if you compare IW early game to e.g. Wunder early game, the frontline will be much closer to your enemy.
A general tip for playing Iron Will: don’t be static – push – retreat – push…. and get a medic quite close to the front (in security of course), set it as a retreat point and gather some Ersatztruppen there as well.
Good luck and let us know if you had sucess or other ideas.
LorariusKeymaster@Ragnar, is my suggestion possible to be implemented?
LorariusKeymasterThe initial goal was very well achieved.
I dislike the long cooldown, especially if one of your trucks was destroyed and you need to wait so damn long to set up your new one.
Suggestion:
1st truck: delay it for 3 mins
2nd truck: delay it for 4 mins (or 1 min after the 1st truck is set up)
3rd truck: delay it for 5 mins (or 1 min after the 2nd truck is set up)Once an already built up truck is destroyed, a new one should appear instantly, or quite fast.
LorariusKeymastermost of the limited tanks don’t have the ability to decrew on it’s own, unless the crew has a certain veterancy (e.g. vet 3 for Panther).
Of course you could still try to flame your own tank and decrew it by that – same goes for the mortar as you already mentioned.
LorariusKeymasterand some more update…
LorariusKeymasterGarry, I do hear the ocasional “plane” or “grenade” shouts, but I can never tell from where that shout came. That does explain why I had the feeling that you had a sixth sense for knowing when and where a gren is being thrown….
I’m not kidding, this is a real question: is it possible for you (and other players) to hear which one of your troops is shouting?
I can distinguish crews from infantry, no prblem, but everything else doesn’t work for me. Is there a sound setting I should tweak?
LorariusKeymasterwell, this is the crux at the moment.
So far OKW is fully modded.
Us is mostly modded, last doctrine is work in progress.Brits, Soviets and Wehr are not modded in the new way yet – that is the reason why you do not find the destrcut option for all the desired units.
LorariusKeymasterThe manual setup would be great…. Thinking of Starbuck making a cool stationary stuka (like ambulance or Faust truck)
I could even imagine to get rid of the stuka truck and replace it with a truck which builds up a station with the wurfrahmen placed on the ground. That would mean it takes time to set up and also to pack together the stuff to get moving again.
Does someone have information about the different types of rockets for the wurfrahmen?
LorariusKeymasterWell, most of us have taken part in the poll and I remember some of the questions as well, but also with the option to choose the pacific for coh3.
But we have to consider that Relic is very busy right now – they have to build the new Age of Empires and will earn a ton of money in that. It is a massive game with a way bigger community compared to company of heroes.
So my guess would be that Relic puts all of their ressources into AoE, also when the game is public it will not end – bugfixes and patches and so on…. and after some time (probably years from now on) they will start to work on CoH 3.
I loved Age of Empires II and 3, so hopefully Relic will grow with that AoE-project and learn a few things that they could bring into Company of Heroes 3 as well.
LorariusKeymasterHello Pyro,
great you like the mod and our community!
Thanks for your interest in becoming a Beta Tester, but currently we are not in a beta testing stage. The last one was for Iron Will and was already in place in November if I remember right.
But we are happy to get some constructive feedback from you for the current version.
We will let you know when we enter the beta testing phase and need feedback.
