    Some nice ideas, but realistically we won’t be re-reworking Luft any time soon. Wehrmacht and Soviets must take priority if we want to have any hope of finishing the main tech tree rework by years end.

    that doesn’t mean we won’t do anything, I just don’t want to raise expectations.

    Yes, this definitely should be a thing, you are using them exactly as intended. Must have been missed, will get it fixed for next patch.

    OKW tiering is slightly more expensive due to the ability to deploy truck further forward.

    Are you saying the allies can deploy medium tanks faster than OKW can?

    AT guns are difficult to balance due to lack of models, will see what I can come up with

    Thanks Nick, you raise some good points and also offer solutions which is great. We will discuss internally how we can tweak the doctrine a bit to be more AT competitive late game.

    Tiger will stay as a one time call in, its just suspending reality too much for the FFI to have constant Tigers.

    We cant use the Lysander offensively as it is not a physical model, so therefore cant be countered.

    I agree the Commando’s could use some small tweaks to make them more attractive and once ambush mode is modded this should help this doctrine overall quite a bit.

    Will look into the AVRE as it doesn’t seem to performing correctly, yes should be a guaranteed stun imo. Very poor penetration due to being a low velocity anti bunker “dustbin” round but the quantity of HE alone should do more to tanks and crew.

    A drain on enemy resources would make more sense to me, I think there was an ability like that in COH1.

    Grenades should get a bonus against entrenched infantry, not sure if its possible to mod for this specifically though.

    We could add a suppressive fire ability instead of auto suppression.

    The M1918A2 BAR was pretty average on paper and wasnt really a true lmg, it was heavy (9.5kg!) and only had a 20 round mag.

    It also had selective fire, both automatic but one “fast” (~600rpm) and slow (~350rpm).

    It did have a bipod so you could implement a prone only suppression ability that might balance it out?

    Well they are called soft skin for a reason, its only a few mm’s of pressed steel. It simply wont stop a bullet. In response to their lack of use we have greatly reduced the damage that rifle bullets cause though in regards to Hit points, but have added the more realistic criticals. I like the idea of a flat tyre slowing rather than stopping the vehicle but that is a minor improvement in the bigger scheme of things.

    Being a realistic armor/penetration mod means we cant simply “buff” units for balance. Maybe soft skins are just a casualty of the overall mod design, we could reduce the frequency of the criticals maybe??

    Re Soft skin Vehicles – What do you see there role as? Maybe they could replace infantry HMG altogether for the more vehicle focused doctrines…

     

    Are troops in trenches getting bonuses against flames? Infantry die so fast to flames at the moment I cant imagine an increase in damage but it would make sense. Also grenades should get a bonus versus entrenched infantry if it lands in the trench due to the enclosed space. Not sure if that can be coded though..

    I think we are on the right track with ambush mode and not suppressed. Ambush mode is realistic and i think its the way we should go but Id prefer to see a huge accuracy nerf when suppressed but still be able to fire (badly).

    What would then need to be solved would be all  the regular infantry squads that get AT rockets because the ambush sytsem may not work in this case.

     

    Also AT grenades would then become insanely powerful, what do we do with them?
