      Hi There Wikingers,

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to try the wonderful new aesthetic changes by starbuck to vehicles in patch 3.1.5c.

The Medical, Anti air and Repair abilities are all quite straight forward and are already enhancing gameplay, but we still need to decide on the best way to mod bonuses for tanks when in camo mode.

What we would like from you is your best ideas on what you would like the bonus to be for tanks.

Please post your ideas here, all will be considered.

      Thanks 🙂

      2 things:

1.) The Creighton Abrams 76 and E8 Shermans lack the camo ability (the regular m4s don’t for some reason)

2.) I don’t really see ambush being a possibility here. I mean if every tank Had it, it would be blood ludicrous. With that said, I think camo should grant a small accuracy and received accuracy bonus. The tank is stationary, and the crew have had the time so relax a bit (not stressed by running the tank at full speed) so better accuracy, and received accuracy lower because of the camo. If that seems OP, then make it last for the first 2-3 shots, but which time the enemy full know the position of the tank, so the bonus disappears.

@Death_Kitty:  I think The M4 75 mm might be the only one for the US that got the camo ability before the patch was released.  You can count on seeing the others for the next release.  I should have all medium and heavy armor for the Brits and Soviets done soon as well!

I’d be happy to see them with a 1st shot stationary accuracy boost, I think it’s already of some benefit in PvP with the unit occlusion being removed for vehicles etc.

At first I would like to see some improvements to the camo-ability

      • hold fire button (the coolest button would be: hold fire until other orders or until you are spotted)
      • driving without manual decamo (let the camo be made and the moment you move you destroy it)

      Some possible bonuses:

      • higher accuracy (only when the tank is standing in camo for a minute or so – the gunner had time to make a map with destinctive area profiles, lanmarks and calculated the distances)
      • higher potential to shock enemy’s tank-crews (the crews are kinda scared cause they didn’t expect to be shot from the camoflaged vehicle)
      • with veterancy comes another camo bonus: the second shot camo mode. If the first shot was fired from camo and out of the enemy’s normal range of view the tank/at gun will still remain in camo and it’s position will not be revealed on the minimap or the battleground

      Infrared Views:

The infrared detection should still be able to detect camoflaged vehicles, cause hiding the engine’s or barrel’s heat is nothing that a couple of bushes can do very well – maybe the detection range could be decreased for camoflaged vehicles.

German infrared detector in WW2 was an active device(search light + detector),and it could not be used as a thermal detector. Basically,it isn’t better than eyes while searching camouflaged enemy.

German infrared detector in WW2 was made in PbS(Lead sulfide),which could only detect radiation at wavelengths between  1 and 3 μm. According to Planck’s blackbody radiation law, this material can only detect object with several hundreds ℃.

After 10 years,American infrared detector in Vietnam war can detect heat.
