AI won't attack in a thin map

  So yeah, Me and my friends have had a problem where the AI simply outright refuses to attack on certain maps that are too thin for a sneak around the back tactic. We tried it on every single difficulty, and no matter what, they would not build up defenses, or attack. They would simply stockpile their troops into one location and then leave them there.

  That sounds more like a map issue than an AI one. Try the map with no win condition pack and no tuning pack and it should persist.
  
  The AI would do that on every map if it was broken, we should know… it used to be broken 😛
