Ok guys, i’m perfectly aware that this can be considered as highly controversial, but i would to discuss the soviet at squads issue. What i mean is the fact that soviets has 2 bazooka AT squads available in all of theirs doctrines. I know that they were supplied by allies via land lease etc., but bazooka should be considered rather like some kind of rare and exclusive equipment for elite troops mostly. Soviet AT capabilities should be based mostly on at rifles, at guns, some of minor infantry equipment and on their own tanks and vehicles. Now they are as highly saturated with best land lease at stuff like Americans, in fact they have better infantry equipment than poor Brits with piats ;d This has little to do with game balance and it;s mostly immersion/realism issue, but i think its worth discussion. I think that soviets are highly capable with their overall AT and allowing them to own 1 bazooka squad, or cutting down zooks number in squad to 1 (with price reduction and/or adding them some other abilities like placing at mine etc ) won’t be devastating to them. Maybe making them available only to one doctrine like shock army would be possible ?I know that at squads are one of the most balanced thing in the game, but i think that this change is possible without making harm to soviet army players and it can be compensate via other at stuff. These are only some suggestions but im sure that remaking soviets to be more reliant on their at guns and at rifles would be more realistic and interesting as well.

Amen! This man speaks word of truth! In all honesty, this will probably be fixed as the tech trees are reworked. This will be around for a while, given that soviets are coming last.

Thanks for the feedback, we will definitely look at this when we do the Soviet rework.
Considering the following facts: 1/ the Soviets have the worst AT gun in the ZIS-3, 2/ AT rifles can only penetrate up to 40mm of armour, and 3/ the COH2 engine does not model side armour, what would be your recommendation to replace the bazooka? Keeping in mind our desire to be historical but also keeping each doctrine playable.

My opinion :
Move M-42 AT-gun one tier down as British/US counterpart.
It is enough to hold early armor like panzer II.
Move KV-1 one tier down.
Make soviet player destroy German vehicle easily and control midgame.KV-1 will protect Soviet from German’s advance like Battle of Raseiniai.Move Soviet tank hunter grenadier two tier up and limited to one squad.Soviet tank hunter grenadier now equipped with one bazooka and one PIAT.

Interesting ideas, i like it! would have to be thoroughly tested for balance but I could see it working.
Yes the Soviets received more PIAT’s than Bazookas if some records are to be believed. Apparently they didn’t really rate either of them.

It is very difficult to make something ‘rare’ and ‘good’ at the same time. If the option is better, people will get it often. If it isn’t, people won’t.
