      TL;DR – no.

      This might be a “don’t fix what ain’t broke” situation. Reading this, please note I’ve referred to the 2nd deployable truck as the 3rd truck, mostly because it is the 3rd building and the hotkey for it is f3.

       

      If you are looking at changing something either way, up/down/left/right, we need to establish first if there is a problem and what is it? Is the problem:
      a) First truck takes to long to deploy?
      b) Second truck deploys to quickly?

      The first truck is delayed due to the infantry it spawns being on the truck. Very powerful on bigger maps. It also delays your ability to build caches and defenses early on (not Luftwaffe) by only allowing you get pioneers from those trucks. This is a “hard coded” limitation on OKW and forces a disadvantage and there is no playing around it.

      Now the 3rd truck’s big units are the early luchs or 2cm flak half-track. If the trucks come out at almost the same time, the OKW goes from early game straight to mid game with no transition period. Whereas, the US have a phase where they start bringing in stuff from the 2nd building to assist in the combat and after they’ve had an impact then you can get a stuart or whatever you want from that 3rd building.

      It just so happens that at about the same time that a luchs is looking at being active, so is a stuart.

      Therefore, the 2nd deployable truck may be spawning at more or less at it’s intended time, but the 1st truck is so delayed that it’s average deploy time sits so close to the 2nd.

      The big question is: *is this a problem?*

      You have to consider the effects of making the 2nd or 3rd truck spawn faster or later. If the first truck spawns faster, OKW gets access to it’s mortars or elite infantry or pioneers earlier. Good or bad? I would say that is better for gameplay health on Wunderwaffe and Panzer Arty as they don’t have massive power spikes by getting the 2nd truck quickly, just more utility. Unfortunately, if you make that change, Luftwaffe gets access to it’s mortars and elite infantry so fast that they will just annihilate any and all allied infantry that is on the field at that point more than they already do. Due to these reasons I don’t believe the 2nd truck can spawn any faster without pushing Luftwaffe even further ahead of the other doctrines and giving them an absurdly strong early game that could flat out break the game.

      All right, so what about the 3rd truck then? I would confirm what the average 3rd truck time is and the average 3rd building time is on the US in an even game. You could try this with other factions but as the US is “finished” and the 3rd truck and building have the same sorts of units – it is comparable. If you find that both 3rd building and 3rd (2nd deployable) truck activate closely together, then leave the costs the way they are. If not, make adjustments…. maybe. If you bring the cost in fuel of the 3rd truck (2nd deployable) up, you should bring the cost of the heavy panzer post activation down because it already takes long enough to get heavies.

      That’s my thoughts on it. As I said though, if you were looking at changing it because the 2nd and 3rd truck spawn closely together and for that reason alone – absolutely and totally not.
