Oddly enough for a doctrine that is supposed to represent a Panzer Division, I often find myself floating a lot of fuel when using Wunderwaffe. Early and mid game its a prized resource to tech up or build a Panzer 2 (vital to rush MGs or kill halftracks) or Mortar half track.
After this point, its important but not key when I’m playing with Stug 4 or Ostwinds. Once we hit late game though, I rarely (if ever) use fuel.
The major call ins (Tiger, King Tiger) are all purely fuel based. I’ve toyed with building a Panther before just so I don’t float a resource, but since the Panther is still vulnerable to an IS2 frontally I generally prefer to go KT.
Late late game, I re-find use as the Focke-Wulf airstrike can be useful.
I find it odd that (at least how I play), Wunderwaffe doesn’t need much fuel. How do you guys play that better uses it, or is this something that can be added to the doctrine?
