Hungarian Units
General Background:Coming on to the 3rd Wehrmacht doctrine and yet to find hungarian units in this faction i decided to create a 2nd post in which i mention the missing of hungarian units in the mod (first one was at the bottom of my first post).
Having been to and fought from Scandinavia to Northern Serbia, from Austria all the way to Stalingrad.
I’m not sure whether the tanks specifically are moddable with the tools we have to an acceptable realistic level. Lets hope they are.
Tanks
Here are a few of the Hungarian Tanks used in WW2.
I. 43m Zrínyi II
Mostly operated on the Eastern Front in many sub-theaters such as Galicia. During the battle of Turda and the Siege of Budapest (at the latter under the command of Ernő Billnitzer) they served with distinction.
The Hungarian High command intended to form several battlegroups armed with Zrínyis, but due to the lack of resources only a few were armed with them and many groups had to use Hetzers or Stug IIIs.
The 105mm Howitzer would be an excellent bane to allied tanks and would be quite unique.

This is what i found regarding Ernő Billnitzer and the battle of budapest:
II. 40M Nimród
Good SPAAG alternative besides the Ostwind for example.
135 were build as opposed to the 43-45 of the Ostwind as well as being lighter, faster it could be a good anti-aircraft tank.
Late in the war, they were issued with 42M Kerngranate round (last picture).

III. 38/42M Toldi
Toldi IIa in the third picture in winter camouflage. Toldi IIa at the Kubinka museum in the fourth picture.
Based on the Swedish Landsverk-L60, hungarian light tank of which around 200 were build (all types).
Great for reconnaissance and against infantry units.
They fought in many theaters as well as in many different engagements of the war such as Barbarossa, kharkov etc.

IV. 40M/41M Turán
2 main variants : the 40 and the 41. Former having a weaker 40mm the latter a 75mm short barreled gun.

V. 39M Csaba
Mainly used for reconnaissance due to its speed and was an excellent component of the Hungarian Rapid Corps which was a mechanized unit led by Major General Béla Miklós.
This topic tried to briefly cover the hungarian tanks used by Hungary during WW2. In my text topic i’ll cover the infantry component.
For more information there is a book called Armament of the Royal Hungarian Army by Attila Bonhardt, Gyula Sárhidai and László Winkler.
