I would recommend to set 0-17.7% as near, 17.7%-47.7% as mid and 47.7%-100% as far for explosion (the distance that energy drop to 10% as maximum distance).

If this change applied, it will be a nerf to arty. You can still chage munition cost for balance, although I think arty is a little op now.

      Thanks a lot Mor!!!
This is what I intended by not just taking a note of a “bug” but handing it back to the community…

      rocket science^^

what is your profession? At least it looks quite professional! … Your expertise could be handy at times 🙂

Anyone here to verify? At least I can’t, I am not a rocket scientist 😉

I’m a graduate student who is studying photonics(about light ),so I’m not good at rocket physics  😉

I still don’t understand this to be honest. I have some questions:

Zero damage for a point blank hit?? Can you imagine the complaints we would get.

Are we really discounting the shockwave effect on infantry?

      Is it the fragments accelerating?

      Fragments versus vehicles?

Please give an example of what will happen ingame to various units at various distances that are within the blast radius. Thanks

Target takes most damage with point-blank hit rather than zero damage.

(example)If a grenade drops on the ground, an infantry is hit at different lacation:
Suppose grenade do 50 maximum damage and 10(m) effective blast radius.
Suppose infantry has 45 health(or hitpoints).

If infantry is located at 0(m)-1.77(m), the infantry reduces by 50.00(100%) health(infantry die).
If infantry is located at 1.77(m)-4.77(m), the infantry reduces by 33.33(66.6%) health(heavily wounded).
If infantry is located at 4.77(m)-10.0(m), the infantry reduces by 16.66(33.3%) health(lightly wounded).
If infantry is located outside 10.0(m), the infantry reduces by 0 health.

Both maximum damage and blast radius are decided by caliber(or TNT mass), which you had already implemented in game. My model only provide how damage decay with distance.

How does this differ from what we have now?

Suggested model has smaller deadly radius, but larger light damage radius.

      Current model:
If infantry is located at 0(m)-3.33(m) (0%-33.3%) , the infantry reduces by 50.00(100%) health(infantry die).
If infantry is located at 3.33(m)-6.66(m) (33.3%-66.6%) , the infantry reduces by 33.33(66.6%) health(heavily wounded).
If infantry is located at 6.66(m)-10.0(m) (66.6%-100%) , the infantry reduces by 16.66(33.3%) health(lightly wounded).
If infantry is located outside 10.0(m), the infantry reduces by 0 health.

      Suggested model:
If infantry is located at 0(m)-1.77(m) (0%-17.7%) , the infantry reduces by 50.00(100%) health(infantry die).
If infantry is located at 1.77(m)-4.77(m) (17.7%-47.7%) , the infantry reduces by 33.33(66.6%) health(heavily wounded).
If infantry is located at 4.77(m)-10.0(m) (47.7%-100%) , the infantry reduces by 16.66(33.3%) health(lightly wounded).
If infantry is located outside 10.0(m), the infantry reduces by 0 health.

OK thanks, that is much clearer now.

We will discuss it internally. Please don’t expect this to happen in the short term though as we need to push on with finishing SS and AEF Doctrines. But thank you for your research.
