Hey Kraus!
We talked in Steam over that topic. Now i post it here.
I think for realism the buildings have to be bulletproof against most guns. All Machine and Sub-machineguns or karabins. I think only tanks and rockets (PZ and other tankhunter weapons, but not the long tankhunter guns) can do damage on buildings. All other were and is pretty unrealistic. Grenades do less damage i didnt see that a grenade break down an building exept he hit the gastank 😉
I hope you understand me? That would be more intense and realistic. You cant rusch with sheep soildiers and so on.
Regards,
Karz1th

Moin Wehrwolf,
I have to disagree…
11:10
And now think of some typical types of houses….
- Fachwerk was very common (easy to penetrate i guess)
- Solid ground floor, wooden upper floor (easy to penetrate i guess)
- burned full bricks (propably very hard to penetrate)
- Any other type of natural stones (propably very hard to penetrate)
Grenades, yes, in most cases, but I think they will damage Fachwerk and wooden Buildings.

Oh.
Okay. But there arent typical rifles for SOldiers except the MG42 and Cal. 50 for tankhunter rifles and there are heavy machine guns or high caliber. I talk in this case about soldiers without that caliber (MP40, STG44, G43 and so on… 🙂 I agree with you 🙂 But not at all. The lower caliber didnt kill any houses or bunker 🙂 you know? The AK Vid … that will i see does the soldiers shoot for years in a building to destroy it … 😉 Think logical and not in brickwalls … 😉
Edit:
You come through walls… But kills a building? Is nonsense and really … stupid. Why they use mortar and tnt or arty to destroy buildings … they had to use this caliber … or? 😉 Thanks. Its unrealistic. You can shoot through but you cant destroy in a understandable way…

Moin Wehrwolf,
OK, good explanation, now I get your point.
It is more or less about the buildings itself and not the people within.
Yes, I go with you, handheld guns can penetrate buildings (houses) but will not destroy them. On build ones (bunkers, trenches) they show almost no effect. But now I loose you in another aspect: Did you see it ingame that normal arms fire does a significant damage to any building? I am not sure, but I can’t remember that happening.

You see it when you attack enemy mainbuildings. Or the Points for oil or ammo on capture places (dont know the name of the building xD). I think the dmg have to be go to 0 …
@Cardmen: Yes. My german is my motherlanguage… English is .. english ^^ Not my motherlanguage. 😉

OK, I will test it myself and talk it through with the team…
One thing I noticed which personally annoys me is that snipers for e.g. engage on buildings and are kind of “stuck” to shooting it even though each bullet does (almost) no damage.
